Sleeping Fan Sues ESPN, MLB For Defamation

A fan shown sleeping in the stands during ESPN's broadcast of a Yankees-Red Sox game in April is suing the network, Yankees and Major League Baseball for ten-million-dollars for defamation.  Courthouse News Service reports the complaint from the 26-year-old man contends he was the victim of an "unending verbal crusade" by ESPN announcers Dan Shulman and John Kruk, who referred to him as oblivious, unintelligent and stupid.  MLB is included in the suit for uploading video of him sleeping as part of its game highlight package on mlb.com.
