"NIGHTLINE" ANCHOR ADMITS COCAINE AND ECSTASY USE CAUSED TV MELTDOWN

"Nightline" anchor Dan Harris blamed drug abuse for an embarrassing on-air meltdown on "Good Morning America" in 2004.

Harris was giving news updates one morning when he suddenly seized up and had to cut his segment short half-way through.

At the time, Harris was using cocaine and ecstasy to control depression he developed after covering war for several years.

He says that drug use is what caused the panic attack . It was then that he gave up drugs.
