A celebrity photographer is trying to raise the potential damages he could win from Justin Bieber in a lawsuit that accuses him and a bodyguard of battery during a confrontation outside a recording studio.
The photographer's attorney, Mark DiCowden said he has documented at least 11 similar assaults against photographers over two years involving Justin and his security team. He feels that a large punitive damage award for the photographer could stop future assaults against celebrity photographers.
The judge didn’t rule right away because Justin Bieber’s attorney said there is no evidence that the photographer was physically hurt in the attack last June. That would mean damages should be minimal.
Justin Bieber isn’t facing any criminal charges in the case.
